Resource conservation Projects:

In partnership with United Way of Bengaluru, the bank undertook the rejuvenation of Kanekallu Lake to strengthen water security, restore ecological balance, and build community resilience. The initiative has benefited 16 villages, 2,031 households and 10,400 individuals, while also supporting biodiversity through the release of 20,000 native fishlings and plantation of 1,600 saplings around the lake ecosystem.

In partnership with NABFoundation, the bank rejuvenated three water bodies in Bavda village, Khandala Taluk, Satara, through desilting, bund strengthening and seepage control measures. The project has improved water retention and storage capacity, benefiting over 3,000 people across 718 households and conserving approximately 79 TCM of water to support agriculture, local water security and sustainable livelihoods.

The bank partnered with Sankalptaru Foundation to plant 4,000 trees in Tulapar, Pune, under a three-year project that includes maintenance and supports environmental restoration, carbon sequestration, water management, and improved air quality. In addition, through direct implementation and partnership with GFI Clean Roads India, the bank has supported waste collection vehicles and composters to strengthen waste management, promote composting, and reduce landfill burden.

The bank has provided two boats to the Varanasi municipality under the Namami Gange scheme to support waste and garbage collection from the river Ganga. Implemented in association with the Varanasi administration, this initiative strengthens river cleanliness and environmental conservation.

We believe that charity begins at home. In adherence to our belief, we initiated our activities towards the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, where we took the initiative to clean our neighbourhoods.

The Project started as a cleanliness pilot campaign covering areas near our Koramangala branch in Bengaluru. The initiative was later scaled to many more locations during the FY19-20, actively involving employees and communities by cleaning 100m around the office premises in ‘The Swachh Neighbourhood project’. The objective was to build a sustainable model by educating the local community members on maintaining a clean neighbourhood.

During the FY 25-26, this activity has been carried out in 748 locations across PAN India which threw a great opportunity for volunteering engagement. About 18,000+ employees participated in the events contributing to 36,000+ overall volunteering hours. About 9,500+ saplings were planted and more than 16 tonnes of waste collected as a part of this activity.
