Enhancing Healthcare Infrastructure

Furthermore, the Bank has been undertaking CSR projects under healthcare directly by supporting them with critical medical equipment needed for the ICU, Ophthalmology department, Pathology lab etc. Some of the significant projects executed under healthcare thematic area are:

(i) Setting up of Brain Health Clinics across 32 District Hospitals in Karnataka - In partnership with NIMHANS, the Bank supported the establishment of physiotherapy units in Brain Health Clinics across 32 government district hospitals in Karnataka. The initiative includes procurement of essential therapy equipment to enable early screening of neurological disorders and improve access to timely care at the district level. The intervention is expected to benefit over 60,000 individuals by strengthening early diagnosis, rehabilitation support, and community-level neurological care.

(ii) Provision of Ambulance: The Bank has provided ambulances at the following places to help the emergency transportation of the severely sick patients at:

1. Urban Health Care Centre at Vadodara, 50 bedded hospital that has a footfall of 750 to 900 patients
2. Urban Health Centre at Shimla, the provided ambulance shall be used by 7 PHCs in and around Shimla to transport the patients
3. KD Super Speciality Hospital is provided with an ambulance to address the maternal and infant mortality rate
   
   
   

(iii) Ujjivan Small Finance Bank has partnered with Sri Kanchi Sankara Health and Educational Foundation to provide free cataract surgeries for 250 underprivileged beneficiaries restoring vision and improving the quality of life in Assam. This initiative supports inclusive healthcare access and aligns with our commitment to community well-being and sustainable social impact

(iv) The bank’s direct initiatives have equipped over 25 government (including PHCs) and trust hospitals with essential medical equipment, benefiting more than 4 lakh patients and strengthening healthcare delivery in underserved communities.

(v) The bank has provided 4 electric buggies to KIDWAI Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru, for patient and caregiver mobility within the campus, benefiting over 24,000 individuals. It has partnered with The Akshayapatra Foundation to deliver nutritious school meals to 4,000 students in UP and Assam, and with Annamrita Foundation in Visakhapatnam, supplying a vehicle to transport food to roadside dwellers and hospital patients and caregivers, benefiting over 100,000 people. These initiatives underscore the bank's commitment to healthcare accessibility, child nutrition, and supporting vulnerable communities.
