Transforming Lives of the Differently-Abled
In partnership with Cheshire Disability Trust, we focus on the livelihood development of persons with disabilities (PwDs). In FY 25-26, about 230 individuals with orthopaedic and auditory impairments were trained in skills such as communication, basic computer literacy, and more at Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Ranchi & Varanasi.
Following their training, these individuals were placed in sectors such as retail, banking, manufacturing and ITeS, with an average monthly salary of around ₹9,000. Some of the employers who have hired our beneficiaries include: Vishal Mega Mart, Zomato, Anamta Outsourcing, etc.
Self-Employment opportunities for the Orthopedically challenged were provided in association with CDT, Neomotion and Zomato. 30 beneficiaries (20 in Kolkata and 10 in Bengaluru) who were crippled to move around independently were offered training on digital know-how, basic computers, English communication and soft skills to take up the intended employment.
They were provided with the Neomotion vehicles and employed in Zomato as Delivery partners. Considering the fact that these beneficiaries’ disability doesn’t permit them for continuous long hours, this employment opportunity has enabled them to earn an average monthly salary of Rs. 12000/- per month besides enjoying the flexible work hours.
Women’s Economic Advancement through Livelihood Empowerment:Uplifting Marginalized Youth
During the reporting period, a dedicated livelihood initiative was undertaken to support the economic empowerment of 50 women from underserved communities in the Puncha block of Purulia district, West Bengal.
The programme aimed to strengthen income-generating capabilities through vocational training, access to resources and market linkages.
Participants underwent structured training in basic tailoring, advanced garment construction and production readiness under the guidance of experienced trainers. To facilitate practical learning and income generation, beneficiaries were also provided with sewing machines, tools and raw materials.
The intervention has led to improved household incomes, enhanced financial independence and stronger economic participation among the women beneficiaries.
