Diversity at Organisational Level

Women currently make up approximately 20% of the overall workforce, while corporate-level diversity stands at 32% and the regions at 19%. 

 

Persons with Disabilities and Inclusive Infrastructure

The Bank actively empowers Persons with Disabilities by providing equitable employment opportunities and accessible workplace infrastructure. The Bank maintains an inclusive approach with no differentiation or exclusivity. Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) are treated as equals and actively included in all programs and initiatives alongside other employees. They participate in the same Skill Development and sensitization programs, which encompass sessions on inclusion and accessibility during induction and onboarding. As part of its accessibility initiatives, 127 branches, 4 regional offices, the Corporate Office, Learning and Development Centre, and Central Processing Centre (CPC) are equipped with ramps to facilitate access for differently abled individuals.

 

Human Rights

Ujjivan SFB is committed to upholding and protecting human rights across its operations and value chain. Guided by its Human Rights Policy, the Bank ensures fair wages, safe working conditions, equal opportunities, and a zero-tolerance stance against child and forced labour. The policy explicitly prohibits discrimination based on caste, religion, age, disability, gender identity, or any other grounds.

 

 

Employee Grievance Redressal Mechanisms

Ujjivan SFB has robust mechanisms in place to address grievances related to human rights.

 

Employees can raise concerns through multiple channels, including:

  • HR Helpdesk on the HRMS portal
  • Amber digital platform for anonymous reporting
  • Whistleblower Policy
  • Disciplinary Committees at sub-regional, regional, central, and appellate levels.

 

Learning and Development

Ujjivan SFB places strong emphasis on continuous learning and capability building, ensuring employees at all levels are empowered with the knowledge and skills required for professional and personal growth. The Bank’s structured approach combines leadership development initiatives, women-focused programs, specialized learning interventions, and digital platforms to deliver a holistic learning experience.

Ujjivan SFB places significant emphasis on employee growth and professional development, recognizing that a skilled, motivated, and accountable workforce is central to organizational success. The Bank through its comprehensive programs, performance management systems, and job rotation initiatives, ensures that employees are supported, recognized, and provided with opportunities to progress and excel within the organization.

 

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policy

Ujjivan SFB has a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policy designed to foster a culture of safety across the organization. The Bank is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by proactively preventing workplace incidents and safeguarding the well-being of all stakeholders. The OHS framework covers key aspects such as employee training, emergency preparedness, hazard identification, risk assessment, incident reporting and management, and strict adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Roles and responsibilities are clearly defined for the Bank, its employees, and customers in collectively promoting a safe workplace.

 

Employee Wellbeing

The Bank adopts a holistic approach, providing programs and benefits that address financial security, health needs, personal challenges, and work-life balance of its employees. These initiatives are designed not only to enhance employee satisfaction and loyalty but also to create an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to perform at their best. In FY 2025–26, the Bank invested ₹109.64 crores in employee wellbeing measures, accounting for 1.36% of its total revenue.

Social - Inclusive communities:

Our commitment to social responsibility has been unwavering, with substantial investments in community development programs that empower underprivileged sectors and promote financial literacy. Our initiatives through CSR and community development projects witnessed a total of 24 Lakh+ beneficiaries and we continue to strive to serve our communities that are indispensable to our society. 

 

Through the flagship ‘Chote Kadam’ programme, in collaboration with Parinaam Foundation, we have made significant strides in community infrastructure development, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals and positively impacting over 11,68,403 beneficiaries. Livelihood development initiatives have empowered differently-abled individuals, youth, and women by providing vocational training and employment opportunities. 

 

Environmental conservation efforts include water conservation, solar lighting for animal shelters, and tree plantation drives, aiming to enhance sustainability and green cover.
