Reinforces the Bank's secured lending strategy in one of South India's largest personal mobility markets
Chennai, 10 July 2026: Ujjivan Small Finance Bank today announced the launch of its Vehicle Finance business in Chennai, offering loans for two-wheelers and pre-owned cars. The expansion marks another milestone in the Bank's strategy to strengthen its secured asset portfolio while catering to customers’ growing mobility aspirations across Tamil Nadu.
The launch comes at a time when the demand for personal mobility continues to rise in Tamil Nadu. Chennai represents one of Tamil Nadu’s strongest mobility markets, with robust demand for two-wheelers and pre-owned vehicles, backed by a diverse customer base compromising salaried, self employed and MSME segments.
The Bank will leverage its existing nine branches across Chennai, including Velachery, Anna Nagar, Porur, Tambaram, T. Nagar, Perambur, Mogappair, Mylapore and Adyar, to increase customer engagement while enabling stronger partnerships with automobile dealers across the city.
Vehicle Finance further complements Ujjivan SFB's growing secured lending portfolio alongside its offerings in affordable housing, MSME lending, gold loans and other retail banking products. The expansion reflects the Bank's continued focus on building a diversified retail asset book while serving the evolving financial needs of customers across high-growth markets.

The Bank will partner with leading automobile dealers across Chennai to build a strong financing ecosystem while delivering an efficient and transparent customer experience which is in line to the OEM’s expectations.
The launch is expected to strengthen Ujjivan SFB’s presence in Tamil Nadu, with the state targeted to contribute approximately 30% of the total South Zone vehicle finance disbursements. As part of this expansion, the Bank aims to onboard 50+ dealers in Chennai, including two-wheeler and pre-owned vehicle dealers.
