Ujjivan Small Finance Bank in Partnership with Y4D Foundation, empowers 100 Youth through their ‘Skill to Employability’ Initiative

xx August 2026: Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) livelihood initiatives, has implemented the ‘Skill to Employability’ project in partnership with Y4D Foundation. The programme is aimed at empowering unemployed youth with industry-relevant skills and enhancing their access to sustainable livelihood opportunities. The initiative focused on equipping beneficiaries with the necessary skills and knowledge to improve their employability and support them in securing sustainable sources of income.

The project has already delivered measurable impact, with all 100 candidates trained and 86 youth securing confirmed placements to date. Beneficiaries were felicitated to honour their achievements. Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Martin Pampilly S, Chief Operating Officer, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, said, “The Skill to Employability project reflects our belief that sustainable livelihood creation begins with access to the right skills. For many of these youth, first-generation formal workers from marginalised communities, this training is more than a certificate; it is a pathway to dignity and economic independence. We remain committed to expanding this impact and helping more young people in Bhor and Shirwal build lasting careers.”

The training is being conducted at the Bhor Skilling Centre, with candidates subsequently placed in firms across the Bhor and Shirwal industrial belt. Over a two-month training programme, youth are being skilled to meet the rising industry demand for PCB Assembly Operators (PCB) and Automotive Assembly Operators (AAO). The curriculum combines NSDC-certified technical training with hands-on practical exposure, workplace readiness modules, and essential soft skills, strengthening participants' employability and confidence to pursue careers in these sectors.

A majority of the beneficiaries come from marginalised families, with many stepping into formal employment for the first time in their households marking a significant step towards breaking intergenerational cycles of informal, unstable work.
