1. Who can open an NRO Recurring Deposit?

NRI customers of Ujjivan SFB with valid KYC. Customers with pending KYC or expired passport/visa are not eligible.

2. How is the deposit funded?

The monthly instalment must be funded from your existing NRO Savings Account.

3. Where will the maturity proceeds be credited?

The maturity or pre-closure amount will be credited to the same NRO Savings Account.

4. Is the interest taxable?

Yes. Interest earned is subject to applicable TDS.

5. Can I withdraw partially from the deposit?

No. Partial withdrawals are not allowed.

6. Is overdraft available against the deposit?

No. Overdraft facility is not available.

7. Is premature closure allowed?

Yes, premature closure is permitted.

8. What is the penalty for missing an instalment?

A penalty of 1.5% of the instalment amount + applicable GST will be deducted from the overall interest at maturity or pre-closure.

9. Do I need to close the RD before closing my NRO Savings Account?

Yes. The Recurring Deposit must be closed before the linked NRO Savings Account is closed.
